Who cares? Evermore Funerals cares!

When you go to a coffee shop, you naturally expect the barista who works there to make your coffee. You wouldn't expect someone else in a different coffee shop to make it, and bring it to the shop where you're paying for it. That would just be strange.

The same goes for a hospital. If you arrive with a broken collarbone, you expect the staff who look after you will be the staff who work there! How would you react if they brought staff from a local medical centre to work in the hospital? That might seem a bit strange too. You'd want to know why!

Whether it's getting a coffee or getting medical treatment, you expect those helping you to actually work at the place you're interacting with. When employees are directly working for an organisation, you know they face a level of expectation and accountability for their work.

We think the same should apply when it comes to caring for a deceased loved one. Such an important task should be approached with the greatest care, respect and dignity. When you call a funeral company, you should have peace of mind knowing the company will personally look after the person you care about. But that's not always the case. Some cheaper operators outsource a significant portion of the funeral/cremation process to third parties.

For example, you might call ACME Cremation Care (a fictitious name). But your first contact may be a call centre not owned by ACME. They might pass on your wishes to a transfer company that will pick up your deceased loved one - again, not owned by ACME. They could possibly take your loved one to a mortuary storage facility - not owned by them. Your loved one could be processed by staff who don't work for ACME. And then your loved one might be taken to a crematorium - again, not by ACME staff.

It's hard to say for sure who is looking after your loved one! And most cheaper companies don't make it clear who (if any) they outsource their work to. It's hard to know. But at Evermore Funerals, when we say we take care of your loved one, WE take care of them. It's personalised care, where every step of the process is overseen by us! While we do not have our own crematorium yet, we partner with trusted crematoriums to complete that part of the process. But as for everything else - you know who's providing the care, support and oversight at every step. It's hard to know who cares at some cheap cremation providers, but at Evermore Funerals we care.
