What is a scattering tube?
Essentially, a scattering tube is a durable cardboard tube which is specifically designed to make the scattering of cremated remains ('ashes') easier.
The ashes are placed within the tube, and the ashes can be released by removing the lid and piercing the circular opening at the top of the cylinder (see picture below, where someone is about to open this circular opening with their thumb).

Scattering tubes come in many colours and sizes. If the ashes need to be divided between various family members, the ashes can be split equally between smaller scattering tubes.
